Undeniably...
In almost all homes, kitchens and bathrooms are the most costly rooms to remodel.
They are deeply linked to life style and personal taste. In fact, for many families
the kitchen is a major focal point for gatherings and activities as well as regular mealtimes.
A bathroom with jacuzzi tub becomes a place to relax and rejuvinate as well as
a place of convenience.
At Frechette's we believe that that every kitchen and bath project, regardless of size or
scope deserves the same expertise and attention to detail from planning until the
final micro adjustment is made to a cabinet door hinge. And we stand behind our work.

Featured next is a fix for an outdated kitchen in a raised ranch. The layout is fairly standard, But the final result
is both elegant and functional. The cabinets are Wellborn Forest Lenox Oak. The countertops are laminate with a beveled edge.
Eliminating the soffit and installing 36" tall cabinets with crown adds a feeling of height to the room. A light, neutral color, luxury vinyl
tile by Mannington makes the floor an eye easing compliment to the cabinets.
Occasionally, for a variety of reasons, it is desirable, from the customer's point of view, to modify the existing space without changing the cabinets.
We don't always advocate this approach because it is generally not cost effective. However, as you can see below, the style of the existing cabinets plays well
with the modern deck style house. Modifications were made to the layout to create efficiency and open the kitchen to the adjacent areas.
The pictures below are ordered to show each section of the kitchen in before and after modes to best show the changes made to each area.
The original layout had the main work area crammed into a tight space with a peninsula that became little more than a catch all. The Viking
refrigerator shown in the photo below was, for some time, parked around the corner to the right in the sitting area. New cabinets, fabricated on site by
our finish carpenter, allowed for installation of the refrigerator and provided room for a wine rack, cookbook shelf, and trashcan pull-out. 2 pictures
were stitched together to creat a wider view of the room, hence the two different floor colors in the photograph.
Above and left, the original refrigerator location became the new home of the cooking appliances. The microwave oven is housed in a custom built cabinet. Granite
countertoops and a tile backsplash complete the package. Additionally, the drawer hardware was upgraded to full extension glides,
a door was added for access to the backside of the blind corner cabinet facing the book cases seen in the photo below, the
cabinets were levelled and reinforced to accept stone counters, and the tile floor was replaced with white oak to blend with the adjacent room.
Featured below is one of the more radical approaches to kitchen remodeling. The original kitchen was not only replaced, but gutted entirely and rearranged, not only
improving the efficiency but adding aesthetic appeal as well.
Please be aware that the curved characteristic of some of the photo's below is due to a technique called stitching used to join a number of pictures together to form
a larger panorama.
The window (A,C) was moved to allow it to center on the sink which was possitioned at the center of the available wall space. The range (B,D) got a new home in the old sink location.
And the refrigerator (B,G) was relocated to the opposite end of the other "L", bringing it adjacent to the end of the sink run, creating an inproved work triangle and allowing
space for a dining bar and a pass-through (F) to let in more natrual light from the livingroom window and allow for TV viewing.
As is the case in the majority of our kitchens, the cabinets are Wellborn Forest. The laminate countertops with bevel edge trim have a great appearance and are a nice choice
if the budget doesn't have room for granite. Finishing off the package are a one piece luxury vinyl floor and a tumbled stone backsplash with glass accents.
